Charging output:
• Small-case alternators below 370A: 160A at 650 rpm; full output at 1,800 rpm
• Large-case alternators 370A and above: 220A at 650 rpm; full output at 1,800 rpm
AutoTech Engineering alternators require a belt that is 0.5 inch shorter than the OEM belt and need a minimum of 650 rpm to charge.
Unless otherwise quoted or instructed, plug-and-play units use the OEM voltage output. On PCM- and ECU-controlled vehicles, the vehicle computer controls charging voltage.
PCM/ECU bypass option:
A bypass wires around the factory voltage control so charging voltage can be customized. In most cases, the battery warning light will remain illuminated. Bypass charging voltage is 14.8V. A bypass is required when using the boosted harness.
Warranty: One year on parts and lifetime labor.
