2016 Chevy Malibu 1.5L High Output Alternator

This AutoTech Engineering high-output alternator is available in 180A, 240A, 320A and 345A configurations for the listed Chevrolet applications. Enter the vehicle year, make, model and engine in the required fitment field before ordering.

Installation note: The rear mounting foot is deleted for fitment. The alternator installs using the two OEM factory bolts.

Amperage and Charging Output

• Available amperages: 180A, 240A, 320A and 345A
• Small-case output at 650 RPM: 160 amps
• Large-case output at 650 RPM: 220 amps
• Full rated output speed: 1,800 RPM for both case sizes

Belt requirement: This AutoTech Engineering alternator requires a belt 0.5 inch shorter than the OEM alternator belt.

Voltage Control and PCM Bypass

Unless otherwise quoted or instructed, plug-and-play units use the OEM voltage output. On PCM- or ECU-controlled vehicles, the vehicle computer controls charging voltage.

• PCM/ECU bypass: Routes around factory computer voltage control and provides a 14.8V charging setting.
• Bypass indicator: In most cases, the battery warning light will remain illuminated when a bypass is used.
• Configuration: Select the required external-regulation and PCM-bypass options before adding the alternator to the cart.
