Floating Touchscreen Design
Two-Piece Configuration The Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX digital multimedia receiver features a two-piece floating display configuration with an external 10.1" capacitive touchscreen monitor and a separate single-DIN (2") source unit. Separating the large touchscreen monitor from the chassis allows the DMH-WT6000NEX to be installed in a standard single-DIN (2") dash opening. The Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX will not fit in some vehicles with a single-DIN opening due to its large 10.1" touchscreen monitor interfering with your vehicle's factory equipment on the dash.
- Floating Touchscreen Monitor: The floating 10.1" touchscreen monitor measures 10.205" (w) x 6.445" (h) x 1.435" (d). Depending on your vehicle's factory radio location and the location of other factory equipment, you may need to adjust the mounting position of the touchscreen monitor in order to prevent impairment of vehicle driving operations. The floating touchscreen monitor offers tilt, horizontal, vertical and depth adjustments to ensure the best fit and usability in your vehicle's dash. These adjustments must be made prior to final installation and cannot be done during operation.
- Tilt Angle: You can even adjust the angle of touchscreen monitor for better usability and visibility. In addition to its vertical 90 degree angle (default), the monitor can be adjusted 15 degrees back or 60 degrees forward.
- Up/Down: The touchscreen monitor can be adjusted vertically (up or down) to prevent interference with climate controls, vents, and other factory equipment. It offers 5 patterns of vertical adjustment with the monitor protruding a maximum of 4.25" above the chassis or a minimum of 2.125" above the chassis.
- Left/Right: The touchscreen monitor can also be moved horizontally (left or right) to prevent interference with climate control, vents, and other factory equipment. It offers 3 positions - Left 1.25", Centered (default), or Right 1.25".
- Forward/Back: In addition, the touchscreen monitor can be adjusted back and forth to allow more or less space between the monitor and the dash kit for a better fit. You can choose from 2 positions - Back (2.25" from front of monitor to dash) or Forward (3.0" from front of monitor to dash).
- Single-DIN Source Unit: The included source unit fits in a standard 2" single-DIN opening (applicable kit, harness, etc. will be required and sold separately for your vehicle). Once the source unit is mounted in the dash, the 10.1" touchscreen monitor attaches and connects to the front of the source unit using the included hardware and integrated proprietary cables. All of the Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX's inputs and outputs are found on the rear-panel of the source unit.
10.1" Capacitive Touchscreen: he Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX features a 10.1" capacitive LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (RGB), for a total of 2,764,800 pixels. The 10.1" capacitive touchscreen creates a bright and easy-to read image, while its minimum gap panel design offers a wide viewing experience. The capacitive touchscreen panel is highly responsive, powerful, and very intuitive for exceptional control. It offers multi-touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom, plus simple swipe & scroll controls - similar to your smartphone's touchscreen interface. The touchscreen display allows you to control this unit and connected devices such as an iPhone, Android smartphone, Bluetooth phone, or USB thumbdrive. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio adjustments, and setting up the system.
- Split-Screen Mode + Shortcut Keys: With Split-Screen mode you can simultaneously display and control both the Apple CarPlay or Android UI and the receiver's menu for your secondary source at the same time, on one screen. This function is useful when you want to access your music content (i.e. AM/FM Tuner or USB) while navigating through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto without having to toggle back and forth. Thanks to Shortcut Keys on the touchscreen, Volume level, EQ setting, WebLink Cast and radio station selection can be done through the receiver's home screen.
- Customize Display Screen: You can customize the Home screen and change its layout by selecting and rearranging your favorite sources, applications, and widgets. Widgets enable you to see your favorite sources and application information on the Home screen and access shortcuts to them. The color of the on-screen display can be set to red, amber, green, blue or white. The background display can be selected from a variety of different preset displays for the AV Operation screen and several different preset displays for the Home Menu screen. In addition, you can change the background display of Home screen to other images imported from an external USB device.
- Picture & Brightness Adjustment: You can adjust the picture for each source and rearview camera. You can adjust the display's brightness (black level), contrast, color (color saturation), hue (color tone), dimmer (brightness), and temperature (white balance). Brightness modes will make the receiver screen much easier to see when sunlight is being reflected in the car. The receiver will automatically switch between Dark or Light mode at a set time, or when your vehicles headlights turn on/off. This can also be controlled manually.
- Clock & Weather Display: The touchscreen monitor will display day, month, year, and the time. It can also display the current weather temperature if the unit is connected to the internet via WiFi to your Apple iOS device or Android smartphone.
Notes:
- This unit has a parking brake interlock system that prohibits viewing of video programming and operating certain controls when the vehicle is in motion. In order to watch video on the in-dash monitor, the vehicle must be stopped with the parking brake engaged. The head unit's light green wire must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. The head unit's touchscreen will display a "Caution" message, if you try to watch a video when your vehicle is in motion.
- The parking brake wire must also be connected and the parking brake engaged for certain setup functions and menu options.
- CarPlay and Android Auto do not require that the parking brake be engaged.
Luminous Bar: A Luminous Bar at the top of the 10.1" monitor touchscreen illuminates for turn guidance, voice sync, and music. The Luminous Bar can be turned on or off. Its color illumination is link to the unit's custom key button illumination. The brightness of the Luminous Bar can be set between 1 and 10, or you can have the brightness change automatically when your vehicle's lights are turned off and on.
- Turn Guidance: The Luminous Bar can be linked to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto navigation. The Luminous Bar visually assists you while driving by glowing in sync with the map screen and turn-by-turn voice guidance, letting you know when to turn left or right.
- Voice Sync: While using voice control with Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa, the Luminous Bar lights up in the middle while expanding and contracting at regular intervals during voice recognition.
- Music Sync: The Luminous Bar can be linked to music playback when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Luminous Bar provides rhythmic and dynamic illumination in time with your music. Two modes of music synchronizing are available - Mode 1 for detailed expression from low to high frequencies, and Mode 2 for a more dynamic feel with a stronger low-frequency expression (selectable according to your preference and mood).
- Security Blinker: For added security, the Luminous Bar flashes red on both ends while your vehicle is parked (parking brake wire of pioneer receiver must be connected), in order to deter potential intruders and theft.
Note: The Music Sync feature of the Luminous Bar is only active when the vehicle is not moving in order to avoid further distraction while driving. The vehicle's movement is calculated from the unit's GPS antenna.
Hard Key Controls w/ Custom Illumination: In addition to the touchscreen controls, the unit includes 4 capacitive touch buttons along the left edge of the screen and 2 push-button keys on the top of the screen for frequently used functions. There is even a "Direct" key that allows direct access to CarPlay and Android Auto from any screen. The color illumination of the capacitive touch button can be set to red, amber, green, blue, white, or scan (constantly cycling through the color spectrum). You can also create a custom color to match your vehicle's interior lighting (112 colors to choose from).

AV Input: The Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX has a rear-panel 3.5mm minijack AV input for connecting an external audio/video device, such as a DVD player or TV tuner (sold separately). The Pioneer receiver's parking brake wire must be connected and your vehicle's parking brake engaged in order for the head unit to display a video signal.
Dual Camera Inputs: The Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX is equipped with two camera inputs - a dedicated backup camera input with parking guidelines and auto-switching, plus a second camera input that can used for a dash-cam, side camera, or towing camera (all sold separately). Both camera inputs consist of a composite video camera input.
- Backup Camera Input w/ Guidelines: The Pioneer receiver is equipped with a composite video camera input for the addition of an optional backup camera (sold separately). The unit provides on-screen guidelines to assist you when backing up and parking your vehicle. The backup camera input offers two view modes -
- Auto View: The unit features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image. When the vehicle's transmission is put in reverse, the screen automatically switches to the rear view camera (violet/white wire of the harness must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching). Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.8 seconds.
- Camera View: There is also a Camera View mode which allows you to manually bring up the rearview camera image on the receiver's touchscreen monitor to check what is behind you while driving. You can leave the Camera View mode on if you want to see the rearview image at all times; for instance when towing a trailer.
- Second Camera Input: The DMH-WT6000NEX has an additional composite video input where you can add a second camera. The second camera view can be activated at any time and has many potential uses including connection of a dash-cam, monitoring a tow vehicle, providing a side view for better lane visibility, or as an alternate rear view if the vehicle’s backup camera view isn't available.
Note: The camera inputs are meant as a driving aid only; never solely rely on the cameras when driving and maneuvering your vehicle. In addition to using the camera or cameras, always look around your vehicle to make sure everything is clear while driving.
Smartphone Charging: The head unit's USB-A connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected Apple iPhone or Android device when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position. If your mobile device has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.
HD Radio + SiriusXM Ready
HD Radio: The Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX's built-in HD Radio tuner lets you listen to the radio with the same fidelity as your digital music. HD Radio features high quality audio, FM multi-casting, and data services. With HD Radio, your FM stations offer near CD-quality sound, AM stations provide FM-like sound, and there is crystal-clear reception with no audio distortion. Best of all, HD Radio is 100% subscription free. The unit's tuner also supports analog AM/FM broadcasts.
- Supertuner IIID: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
- Station Text/Album Art + RDS: AM/FM digital stations can offer text and data such as artist names and song titles. The head unit also supports Album Art from select HD Radio stations. For analog FM stations, the Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as song/artist information when listening to compatible RDS FM stations.
- Multicasting & Recommendations: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 3 multicast programs (HD1 to HD3, and analog). There are also data programs for each program. This unit will also suggest radio stations (up to 3) according to your frequently listened to radio stations.
- Presets & Favorites: The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest analog or HD stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets. The Favorites feature allows you to pick out your Favorite preset stations (AM or FM) and combine them into one list.
- Reception Blending: If a digital broadcast reception condition gets poor, this unit automatically switches to the analog broadcast of the same frequency level. If this function is set to "On", the tuner switches between digital broadcast and analog broadcast automatically. If this function is 'Off', reception will be conducted within a digital broadcast.
- Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.
Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to www.hdradio.com to check for HD Radio stations in your area.
SiriusXM Ready: The Pioneer head unit is SiriusXM Ready so you can listen to commercial-free music, all your favorite sports, exclusive talk and entertainment, comedy, news, and more. Simply activate a SiriusXM Radio subscription (fees will apply) and connect the SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner (220SXV300, sold separately) to the dedicated port on the rear of the receiver for playback and control of satellite radio. Check out the most popular SiriusXM subscription packages here.
- Channel/Category Lists + Song/Artist/Album Info: The Channel List displays a list of all available channels. The Category List displays all available categories and stations within those categories. Displayed Information such as Channel Name, Artist Name, & Song Title can be viewed on the head unit's LCD touchscreen. You also get station logo identification and album art.
- Category Scan + Instant Replay: During Category Scan, the live broadcast for each channel in the current category plays for six seconds at a time. The SiriusXM Instant Replay function lets you pause, rewind, and replay up to 60 minutes of live content from the station that you are currently listening to.
- SmartFavorite Presets with TuneStart: You can store up to 18 SiriusXM Satellite Radio Station Presets with special tuning features such as TuneStart. TuneStart automatically start songs from the beginning when you tune to one of your SmartFavorite music channels stored on the current band of presets.
- Parental Control: The SiriusXM Parental Control feature allows you to control access to channels that you consider inappropriate for younger listeners. When enabled, The Parental Control feature requires you to enter a 4-digit passcode to tune to the locked channels.
Note: A separate SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription is required (operates on the XM Network). However, you can easily add this SiriusXM tuner to an existing Sirius or XM account for a Multi-Radio Discount Plan.
