2008-2013 Toyota Highlander High Output Alternator
AutoTech Engineering2008-2013 Toyota Highlander 3.5L High-Output Alternator
Upgrade a 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander V6 3.5L charging system with an AutoTech Engineering high-output alternator. Choose 240A or 320A output, then enter the exact year, make, model and engine size in the required field so fitment can be confirmed before the alternator is built.
Vehicle Fitment
- 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander V6 3.5L (3456cc)
- 2009-2012 Toyota RAV4 V6 3.5L (3456cc)
- 2010-2012 Lexus RX350 V6 3.5L (3456cc)
Output and Installation Specifications
- Available output options: 240A and 320A
- Case size: Small-case alternator
- Idle output: 160A at 650 RPM
- Full rated output speed: 1,800 RPM
- Minimum charging speed: 650 RPM
- Belt requirement: Use a belt 0.5 inch shorter than the OEM belt
Voltage, Boosted Harness and PCM Bypass
Unless otherwise quoted or selected, plug-and-play units use the OEM voltage setting. On PCM- or ECU-controlled vehicles, the vehicle computer normally controls charging voltage.
Boosted harness options: The options available on this listing are 15.3V with one diode or 15.5V with two diodes. The selected diode arrives installed in the harness.
PCM/ECU bypass: A bypass changes charging control from the vehicle computer and sets charging voltage to 14.8V. A bypass is required when using a boosted harness. In most cases, the battery warning light will remain illuminated after a bypass.

Plan Your 2008–2013 Toyota Highlander Alternator Upgrade
- Vehicle and engine
- 2008–2013 Toyota Highlander — 3.5L V6. Confirm the full fitment list and provide your exact year, make, model and engine when ordering.
- Selectable output options
- 240A or 320A. Review the chosen option and any additional order requirements above.
Idle versus rated output: Maximum amperage is available at the specified alternator speed; it is not the same as output while stopped. Compare the idle-output information above with your amplifier demand and the vehicle’s own electrical load. Ask CAS about the selected amperage option if its idle specification is not shown.
Charging-system compatibility: Confirm the charging-voltage range required by your battery setup. Some vehicles use ECU/PCM voltage regulation; a compatible boosted harness or PCM bypass may be needed for a particular configuration. An optional control product is not automatically required on every vehicle. Check the listing and alternator fitment and voltage FAQs before choosing a solution.
Use the amplifier current calculator to estimate audio demand and allow headroom for the vehicle. For low charging voltage, follow our voltage-drop diagnosis guide. Plan compatible battery reserve and power and ground wiring alongside the alternator.
